That's because the 1,062-foot monument is more than six inches taller in the heat, thanks to thermal expansion, which causes the iron structure to literally grow, according to the Los Angeles Times. But make sure you go during the day if you want the highest experience, because once the sun sets, the tower begins to shrink again.
